Hi Everyone!
We've got a lot to tell you about today - new artists, new blog posts,
and I've got lots to do to prepare for dinner tonight at my house, so
let's get straight to the good stuff...!

THE ENTIRE SARAH FEWELL COLLECTION

I fell in love with Sarah's Hebrew name jewelry collection as soon
as I saw it! The necklaces are so stylish, sleek, clever, and reasonably
priced, that they make the perfect gift for any occasion. I'm getting
one for myself with a disc for each of my three boys with their birthstones
- I just can't decide if I like the sterling silver one or the gold-filled
one. It's also a wonderful grandmother's gift with the names of all
the grandkids. Check
out Sarah's entire collection here. The tags can be made in Hebrew
or English.

THE ENTIRE SKY WEST WOOD INLAY COLLECTION

I can't really describe Sky West's pieces better than Lisa, who wrote
an
awesome blog post describing our new artist, Sky West:
"The skill, the workmanship, and the overall effect that
Charlie creates is amazing! When I first saw these pieces, it was
hard for me to believe that the mezuzahs were actually different types
of wood and were not hand painted! But it's true. Mezuzahs are solid
wood with so much intricate detail that the animals on Noah's Ark
seem to come to life and nighttime in Jerusalem actually features
a darkened sky lit up with tiny silver stars."

---> Shana
Tova from Esther in Jersusalem - My brother-in-law,
Kenny, who lives in Israel, sent me an email from his friend, Esther
Abramowitz, who wrote so beatuifully about Rosh Hashanah in Israel,
that I wanted to share it with you. Here's an excerpt:
"...It feels like this whole week is Erev Chag here in Israel!
Craziness. I think the entire country is basically obsessed with cleaning,
menus and food shopping right now. There are ridiculous lines at every
supermarket, awesome pre Chag sales on house wares and clothing, flowers
galore, Chag sale ads on the sides of buses, Shana Tova text messages
appearing on my cell phone and in my inbox all day, packages of chocolate,
baskets of apples and honey and flowers being delivered to our office,
and on and on… Everyone seems to be cleaning, shopping, cooking
and buying Shana Tova gifts for one another. I love it! "

Risa's Wrap-up
My
9 year-old Daniel (10 in 2 weeks) hit a massive GRAND SLAM HOME
RUN on Sunday!! He hit a shot into deep center field that rolled
into the fence and the other team had no chance! That was the hugest
hit of his Little League career. GO DANIEL!!
Things are busy here tonight! My family is coming over and we'll be
sharing a festive Rosh Hashanah meal. I'm very excited about the new
(old) China dishes that my mother-in-law is giving me with beautiful
gold roses around the edge. We'll be going to the children's services
at Temple Beth Sholom in Roslyn on Thursday and Friday and we'll be
spending nice quality family time together.
From my family to yours, I wish you Shana Tova - have a wonderful
New Year!
Have a great holiday week and an easy fast next week!
Catch you in two weeks!
