Hi Everyone!
How is everyone's summer going? The weather has been beautiful here
in New York. It's going too fast! Lots has been going on here at Jewish
Gift Place, so let's get right to it!
Spotlight
on the Artist
-->Yonatan by Jean Designs
THE YONATAN COLLECTION

I am very excited to introduce you to a very special artist - Jean
- whose Hebrew name is Yonatan, the name of his Judaica
collection. I met Yonatan in February 2011 at the Philadelphia Buyer's
Market of American Craft. Yonatan, who is not Jewish, was a volunteer
in a kibbutz in Israel during the 6-day war and lived in Israel for
3 years. Yonatan's incredibly beautiful Judaica collection reflects
his deep love and passion for Israel and Judaism. With pride, he showed
me the design that was carried aboard the space shuttle Endeavor in
2009 - The
Chai Heart Necklace (see left picture). Check
out his beautiful collection! Look for my interview with Yonatan
in an upcoming newsletter.

What's New at Jewish Gift Place
----> Michal Golan Evil Eye Necklace on TV!
Leave
it to Lana's 16 year-old daughter, Paige, to start a social media phenomenon!
Lana and Paige were watching Real Housewives of NJ when Paige
spotted Melissa Gorga wearing an evil eye necklace. Paige thought it
looked familiar, and after rewinding the tape, she confirmed that it
was a Michal
Golan Evil Eye necklace that we sold! Paige quickly did a Google
search to find blogs that wrote about the Housewives style. She wrote
to one blog to let them know we sold the necklace and they linked to
us! Then Lana contacted another blog and they featured the evil eye
necklace! Then, we were contacted by www.dailyfashionista.com,
and then Melissa
Gorga wrote about it! Thanks to Paige's initiative, these evil eye
necklaces are flying off the shelves! Check out Paige's
blog post on this excitement!

Risa's Wrap-up
----> Family vacation in Maine
After school was out, my mom, my sister, 5-week old Sophia, me and
the boys drove to South Portland, Maine to visit my brother and his
kids for 3 awesome days! It's no wonder why he moved from Brooklyn to
Maine - it's beautiful there! My brother lives 3 blocks from the beach,
and on one foggy day, we all took a walk to a lighthouse, which was
a very cool walk along giant rocks to get there.

Have a great weekend!
Catch you in two weeks!
