Risa's Wrap-up
---> Kristallnacht 73 years ago today, and We're Going to Israel!

Hi Everyone!

Hanukkah is only 6 weeks away! We thought this would be a good time to spotlight our favorite gifts that are less than $50. Let's get straight to the good stuff!

Spotlight on our Favorite Gifts Under $50

Hanukkah is right around the corner! The first night is celebrated on December 20, 2011. At Jewish Gift Place, you can be sure that you will get a gift that is unique, handmade, and very special. Below are some of our favorite gifts that are less than $50. These gifts are perfect for a Hebrew school teacher, your child's friends, the babysitter, or hair dresser, a co-worker, your sister, aunt, cousin, mom, friend, or child. Many of the pieces shown below are new, but from past years, I can tell you that the Michal Golan hamsa bracelets for $35, and the Emily Rosenfeld word bracelets for $35 (shown above), are very popular.

What's New at Jewish Gift Place
---> Incredible new pieces by Gary Rosenthal

Gary Rosenthal is one of my very favorite artists. Not only is he an incredibly talented artist, but he is a great philanthropist. Gary's work is very special to me because when I set about launching Jewish Gift Place 5 years ago, he was the very first artist I bought Judaica from. I had a great hunch on Gary - his pieces are consistent great sellers. We just added new pieces from his collection. Below are just a few. You can learn more Gary in the Gary Rosenthal Interview. You can 'meet' Gary and our other artists in the Meet the Artist Videos, where Gary and the other artists say, "hello."

--->
New blog post by Lisa, Playing with Glass? about Healy Designs' new kaleidoscope necklaces and reminiscing about a laugh-out-loud Saturday Night Live skit about glass. Somehow, Lisa ties it all together.

---> Aimee Golant - her pieces are not online yet, but I just ordered jewelry and mezuzahs from her yesterday and I'm super-excited about adding them to our collection! Here's a sneak-peek at some of the pieces we'll be getting soon.

---> Coming Soon! We're going to have a Hanukkah promotion in a few weeks - every order over $125 will receive a FREE key chain by Whitney Howard Designs. Since so many of their pieces are mix-and-match, I came up with 5 different designs for their key chains.

Risa's Wrap-up
I went to a very powerful presentation on Monday night by Janet Edelman, who lived in Mannheim, Germany on November 9, 1938. She was a witness to Kristallnacht - The Night of Broken Glass - 73 years ago today. She was only 8 years old at the time, but remembers that day as clear as yesterday. With photographic detail, she told of the bonfires and the glass and the terror, and the miracle of her family's survival.

On a lighter note, things are in full planning mode for my mother-in-law and me! She is taking my family to Israel this summer for 2 weeks! First we were looking into tours. Now we're planning on renting a van and checking out the country ourselves and hiring a tour guide for a few days here and there. I have lots of tour guide books about Israel, including a nature book, so now we are planning our itinerary and I can't wait to return to Israel with my family. When I was a sophomore in college in 1985, I spent 5 months at Tel Aviv University. We are all so excited!

Have a great week! Please keep in touch. Follow me on Twitter @jewishgiftplace, or on Facebook . If you send me a tweet, I'll tweet you back!
