About the artists:
As a young girl, Catherine Tatum of Classic Legacy worked in her grandmother’s bookstore. She credits the experience in this family business with developing her desire to meet the needs of customers and provide them with quality merchandise and customer service. Her grandmother also instilled in her a love for creating. This creativity shines through in each and every design. Her insightful nature has allowed Classic Legacy to continually keep pace with current trends and exciting developments. Catherine’s love of color, texture, and the design process enables her to continually create new, classic, and exciting products. Patrick Meyer was born and raised in the eastern part of France, in a small town in the Rhine Valley. The son of a Catholic mother and a father of Jewish ancestry, Patrick grew up with a strong interest in Jewish history and sought a spiritual connection with his roots. He immersed himself in classical studies such as Latin, Greek, and French philosophy and literature. Later, he studied his art at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and made his debut as a metalsmith and jewelry designer, working for such well-known fashion houses as Guy Laroche and Paco Rabanne. Currently, Patrick resides in San Francisco, California, also home to Patrick Meyer Studio, where as a metal sculptor and designer, he creates Judaica objects and accessories as well as functional and decorative cast pewter items for the home. He draws his inspiration from nature, primitive forms, and modern art. All pewter used in Patrick Meyer Studio is high-grade, lead-free, and food safe.
