Patrick Meyer was born and raised in the eastern
part of France, in a small town in the Rhine Valley. The son of a Catholic mother
and a father of Jewish ancestry, Patrick grew up with a strong interest in Jewish
history and sought a spiritual connection with his roots. He immersed himself
in classical studies such as Latin, Greek, and French philosophy and literature.
Later, he studied his art at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and made his
debut as a metalsmith and jewelry designer, working for such well-known fashion
houses as Guy Laroche and Paco Rabanne. Currently, Patrick resides in San Francisco,
California, also home to Patrick Meyer Studio, where as a metal sculptor and
designer, he creates Judaica objects and accessories as well as functional and
decorative cast pewter items for the home. He draws his inspiration from nature,
primitive forms, and modern art. All pewter used in Patrick Meyer Studio is
high-grade, lead-free, and food safe.
