About Sandi Katz
Sandi Katz' glass mezuzahs are incredible! With glass made in colors straight
from The Wizard of Oz, where magical colors like
these exist, each glass mezuzah in her collection is a spectacular burst of
brilliant color. Whether you are looking for a playful mezuzah with interesting
shapes and designs in wild colors, or a more simple modern glass mezuzah with
only a few colors, the glass mezuzot in the Sandi Katz collection are each a
work of art.
Sandi Katz is a well known glass artist whose glass mezuzahs have been given
as gifts and appear in homes, synagogues, offices, and community centers across
the United States and Europe. Originally from Columbus, Ohio, Sandi now lives
in Boca Raton, Florida. Each signed piece is an original handcrafted design that has been kiln fired.
It takes about 12 hours from the inception of a piece until the firing process
is complete. Many of the multi-layered designs require multiple firings.
"I enjoy being able to combine function, beauty, and the warmth of tradition.
I delight in the infinite array of design possibilities available with this
art form. My art is inspired by traditions passed on to me by my mother and
it keeps her close in my heart. Each piece is lovingly made with the hope that
it brings you the same joy I received in creating it," says Sandi Katz
