Work-at-Home Mom and Web Entrepreneur Celebrates 2 Years of
Selling Handmade Judaica Online

Work-at-home-mom of three young boys finds success in e-commerce website and celebrates the 2nd anniversary of www.JewishGiftPlace.com.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 1, 2009 -- Risa Borsykowsky of Albertson, NY is celebrating the 2nd anniversary of her website, www.JewishGiftPlace.com. Risa, a website designer for almost 10 years, launched her own retail web business after designing dozens of websites for clients across the country. Excited by her success in helping her clients rank well in Google and Yahoo, Risa launched her handmade Jewish gift website in 2007, and it has grown steadily ever since, attracting new artists and customers from around the world.

I love designing the website, creating the graphics, writing the content, and optimizing it for the search engines, but what I love most is attending the trade shows, meeting the artists, and picking out the handmade items to sell. At Jewish Gift Place, we have the highest standards of quality for the Jewish gifts that we sell. Whether the piece is painted, sculpted, welded, or fired, it is made lovingly by hand I select every item for its unique contribution to the Judaica collection. It is exciting, and challenging to wear all hats - web designer, marketer, writer, and buyer.

A mom of three young boys, ages 5,7, and 10, Risa took her first web design class shortly after her son, Joshua, was born in 2000. She volunteered to do her first two websites - the pottery studio she attended and her husband's engineering association, and within the first year, she designed four more websites. By 2007, Risa applied her skills to her own e-commerce website, and JewishGiftPlace.com was launched.

"I love what I do!" says Risa. "I love designing the website, creating the graphics, writing the content, and optimizing it for the search engines, but what I love most is attending the trade shows, meeting the artists, and picking out the handmade items to sell." There are many other websites that sell Judaica online, but Risa, a lifelong arts & crafts buff who paints and does pottery, wanted to focus on what she loves the most - handmade items.

Her website was launched featuring the work of five artists: Gary Rosenthal, Michael Bromberg, Cynthia Gale, Michal Golan, and Seeka. By the time the next buyer's market came to town six later - The New York International Gift Fair at the Jacob Javits Convention Center - Jewish Gift Place firmly established itself as a contender in the Judaica market, and more artists were added to the collection including Emily Rosenfeld, K4 Glassart, Ayala Bar, Eduardo Milieris, Steven Bronstein, and Ed Cohen.

"At Jewish Gift Place, we have the highest standards of quality for the Jewish gifts that we sell. Whether the piece is painted, sculpted, welded, or fired, it is made lovingly by hand," says Risa Borsykowsky. " I select every item for its unique contribution to the Judaica collection. " Jewish Gift Place carries handmade Judaica including Hebrew bookends, Shabbat candlesticks, children's Judaica, Chai jewelry, a large Star of David necklace collection, Shin jewelry, hamsa necklaces and wall hamsas, Jewish wedding rings, Kiddush cups, menorahs, mezuzahs, kippahs, seder plates, matzah trays, tallit, tzedekah boxes, Hebrew watches, sculptures, and over a thousand more pieces of handmade Judaica for every Jewish occasion.

It is a challenge running two businesses from home and raising three boys, but Risa works when the boys are in school or camp, and after they are asleep. In 2008, she hired another work-at-home mom, Ulana Illiano, to help out with the business. "It is exciting, and challenging to wear all hats - web designer, marketer, writer, and buyer."

In addition to running JewishGiftPlace.com, Risa has another e-commerce website under development and she is a moderator at www.Cre8asiteforums.com - a forum dedicated to web design, search engine optimization, and internet marketing.
