Melanie
Dankowicz strives to create striking and complex impressions, uniting
traditional Jewish motifs with contemporary themes. Her metal and papercut art integrates
Hebrew text and Jewish symbolism, bringing out the beauty of these symbols by
balancing the flow of lines with the depth of space. Melanie began her artistic
career in papercut and lasercut metal in 1994 when she designed the ketubah for her
own wedding. She is inspired by the countryside of Illinois, where she lives with
her husband and three children.
