Jewish Gift Place is proud to introduce vibrant, brilliantly colored Mayan crocheted kippot. These high-quality crocheted kippot are handmade by Mayan women in Guatemala. The woman are part of a collaboration between women in Guatemala and North America whose mission is to empower Mayan women by giving them an opportunity to earn an income from their skills. MayaWorks gives Mayan women the tools they need to create a sustainable marketplace for their traditional arts. Mayaworks also offers scholarships to Mayan girls, which gives than a rare opportunity to get an education and prepare for their future role as caretakers of their village.
